Description:

Ninety-one documented deaths were attributed to lack of medical care in Hobart Freeman’s northern Indiana faith healing cult, Faith Assembly. Many of these deaths were children who could not consent to being denied medical care. Indianapolis resident Joshua Wilson was raised in Faith Assembly from birth until his teens. Wilson lost a brother to faith healing in the 1980’s and today is a religious skeptic who spreads awareness to the deadly dangers of faith healing.

Deadly Prayers In America is a 45 minute French documentary that explores Wilson’s family’s story, and shows similarities to the modern day Followers Of Christ faith healing church in the western United States. The film explores the fight to eliminate the religious exemption to manslaughter as the child death toll accumulates among Followers of Christ members.

Joshua believes that showing the link between Faith Assembly and modern day faith healing churches is an important step in raising awareness. Wilson will show the documentary followed by a question and answer session. Wilson aspires to one day make a feature length documentary exploring the Faith Assembly story in greater depth.
